Illegal alien nanny accused of stabbing kids to death faces life sentence as trial begins

A Dominican nanny charged five years ago with stabbing to death two children in her care is set to finally face a jury, with the possibility of life behind bars waiting.

Yoselyn Ortega, 55, will be tried for allegedly killing Lucia Krim, 6, and Leo Krim, 2, in their family’s Upper West Side apartment, before slashing her own throat.

After years of pre-trial litigation focused on Ortega’s mental state, jury selection is set to kick off Monday for the supreme court trial before Judge Gregory Carro in Manhattan.

Last year, Ortega refused a plea deal offered by Carro that would have given her 30 years to life behind bars in exchange for pleading guilty to two counts of murder.

Over a span of several months, jurors will hear expert testimony on Ortega’s mental health, as well as witness accounts from the aftermath of the horrific 2012 stabbing — including from the children’s mother, Marina.

A judge determined Ortega was fit to stand trial, but her lawyers are likely going to enter a psychological defense.

The prosecution is expected to present Ortega as the Krim family’s trusted nanny who knew what she was doing when she repeatedly stabbed Lucia and Leo on Oct. 25, 2012 while the children’s mom was out of the home with a third child.

Ortega told investigators Lucia fought back when she was attacked inside the apartment, police sources told the Daily News. Ortega reportedly said the 2-year-old boy was sleeping when the assault began.

Photographs of the two children allegedly stabbed by their nanny are displayed alongside balloons and stuffed animals at a memorial outside the apartment building were they lived, Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, in New York. The 2-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter of a CNBC executive were found dead by their mother in a dry bathtub in the family's Upper West Side apartment Thursday night. When their mother, Marina, returned from a swimming lesson with her 3-year-old daughter, she found the apartment dark and walked down to the lobby to ask the doorman if he had seen Ortega and the children. When told the trio had not left the building, Krim went back up to the apartment and searched each room.

When she entered the bathroom, she found her children, fully clothed, lying a in a bloody bathtub, with multiple stab wounds. Ortega, who was laying on the floor with slashed wrists, cut her own throat as Krim walked into the room. The mother began screaming, which prompted neighbors to call 911.

“She was bent over the child, screaming and holding onto the only live child she still had,” the family’s neighbor told the New York Post at the time. “They were very deep, dark screams.”

Ortega reportedly told authorities she had financial problems and was trying to earn more money. She appeared enraged over being asked by the Krims to do housework for extra crash, law enforcement sources told the New York Post.

“She said something like, ‘I’m paid to watch the children, not clean up and do housework,'” a source told the Post.

The couple’s apartment building sits in one of the city’s most idyllic neighborhoods, a block from Central Park, near the Museum of Natural History and blocks from Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. The neighborhood is home to many affluent families, and seeing children accompanied by nannies is an everyday part of life there.

Ortega is being held without bail.

Twice-deported, drunk driving illegal immigrant accused in death of NFL player

The suspected drunk driver who killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson in a crash on the morning of the Super Bowl is a Guatemalan citizen who is in the U.S. illegally and has been deported twice, police revealed Monday.

Indiana State Police identified the driver of an F-150 truck in the incident as Manuel Orrego-Savala, 37, who had been deported in 2007 and 2009.

“State police investigators are working with U.S. Federal Immigration Officials and they have placed a hold on Orrego-Savala,” police said.

Jackson, 26, and Jeffrey Monroe, 54, also in his vehicle, were hit and killed around 4 a.m. on Sunday on Interstate 70 in Indiana.

Investigators believe Monroe was Jackson’s Uber driver and Jackson was the passenger, FOX59 reported. The station said at some point during the ride Jackson became sick, and the pair were hit on the emergency shoulder of the highway after Monroe pulled over.

A state trooper who responded to the crash also struck the body of one of the victims in the center lane when he slowed his cruiser down to investigate.

Orrego-Savala fled the scene but was arrested shortly thereafter by the responding officer. He then gave police the alias of Alex Cabrera Gonsales. Jail records viewed by Fox News on Monday morning said Orrego-Savala, under the alias of Gonsales, was driving without a license and is believed to have a blood alcohol level of .15 at the time of the crash.

“The loss of life at the hands of illegal immigrant criminals should make all Hoosiers sad and ultimately angry,” Rep. Todd Rokita, R-Ind., said in a statement. “We must do more to get these dangerous illegal immigrant criminals off of our streets, and guarantee this never happens again by building a wall, ending sanctuary cities, and stopping illegal immigration once and for all.”

It was not immediately clear when Orrego-Savala re-entered the U.S. after being deported in 2009. But Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine told Fox News that Orrego-Savala has used the Gonsales alias enough times “to create a paper trail.”

Orrego-Savala is currently being held at the Marion County Jail and police say they are working to file criminal charges.

Hillary Clinton fed anti-Trump info to ex-spy-turned dossier author

Clinton associates were “feeding” allegations to former British spy Christopher Steele at the same time he was compiling the controversial anti-Trump dossier paid for by the Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign, according to an unclassified memo from senior Senate Republicans who recently made a criminal referral.

Those Republicans, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., had asked the Justice Department in January to investigate Steele based on evidence they say suggests he lied to the FBI about his contacts with the media (a violation of 18 USC 1001) — or the FBI misrepresented Steele’s statements.

The lawmakers are now asking the FBI for an emergency review of their criminal referral so it can be made public, with limited redactions.

Steele already is under scrutiny over the unverified Trump dossier, which a House Intelligence Committee document released last Friday alleged was at the heart of the FBI and DOJ’s request for a surveillance warrant for a Trump associate.

The memo from Grassley and Graham, which is now public for the first time, provides new insight into Steele’s circle of contacts during that time. While heavily redacted, the memo states Steele said he received information that came from “a foreign sub-source who ‘is in touch with (redacted), a contact of (redacted), a friend of the Clintons, who passed it to (redacted).”

grassley graham split

“It is troubling enough that the Clinton Campaign funded Mr. Steele’s work, but that these Clinton associates were contemporaneously feeding Mr. Steele allegations raises additional concerns about his credibility,” the senators wrote to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who oversees the Russia probe, and FBI Director Christopher Wray.

“…there is substantial evidence suggesting that Mr. Steele materially misled the FBI about a key aspect of his dossier efforts, one which bears on his credibility,”

Entire sections of the memorandum were redacted by the FBI on the basis that it contained classified information, though a review of the document shows the FBI redacted references to media reporting, including a Washington Post story available on the Internet.

The senators are asking for a declassification review because much of the information was declassified by the president when the House Intelligence Committee memo was released Friday. The memo found the dossier was used to obtain a surveillance warrant on Trump campaign aide Carter Page — and neither the FBI nor Justice Department told the national security court that it was financed by the DNC and Clinton campaign, and bureau contact with Steele was terminated over his contact with the media.

While the FBI fought the release of that memo, the senators also say the FBI’s claims “mischaracterize and misstate” the amount of classified information in the Steele referral. The senators are asking that the FBI and Justice Department “immediately review the classified referral in light of [Friday’s] declassification and provide the Committee with the declassified version by no later than February 6, 2018.”

In a heavily redacted Jan. 19 letter, Gregory A. Brower, assistant director for FBI congressional affairs, said the FBI “respects” the committee’s commitment to transparency but the bureau “cannot and will not weaken its commitment” to protecting classified information because it is in the public domain.

“Public reporting about (redacted) does not affect the FBI’s policy with respect to classification (redacted) nor does it diminish our obligations (redacted),” he wrote.

The House Intelligence Committee has long struggled with the FBI and Justice Department over access to Trump dossier and surveillance records. After August subpoenas were ignored, the committee threatened to hold Wray and Rosenstein in contempt of Congress before a deal was reached.

The memo detailing alleged surveillance abuse by the FBI and Justice Department was fully declassified after the committee followed a long-standing congressional rule which asks the president whether he objects to the record’s release. In this case, the president exercised his powers as commander-in-chief to immediately declassify the document.

Lindsey Graham: We Need 10 Million More Illegal Immigrants

In a meeting this Wednesday, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham made a terrible mistake.

Senator Lindsey Graham is a pro-immigrant, pro-open borders Republican congressman. Graham, who has been leading the immigration negotiation talks, is putting American workers at risk.

“Some might say America is going to hell in a hand basket,” Senator Graham said. “I say that’s what a pig whistles when he’s drunk. The truth is that we need more immigrants to expand our economy into new sectors.”

When asked which sectors the South Carolina Senator meant by his comments, he replied with a list of coal-killing “green energy” industries including solar and wind.

Once  Graham had said his piece, President Trump let him know who was really boss: him.

“I won’t sign anything that doesn’t patch up the faulty border system we got right now,” President Trump said. “Since I’ve taken office illegals are leaving the country in the millions. But we don’t want to let them get back in.”

Historical Science Professor Emeritus at Emory University Ruddy Wilcox has confirmed in his newest book, “Paradigm: Trumpism in America”, that the list of accomplishments during Trump’s first year is staggering.

But there is one place he disagrees with the president.

“Graham is a Republican in name only,” Wilcox said. “There isn’t a Conservative bone in his body. I think the president would be better served making unilateral executive orders. The government is broken. He can fix it.”

Graham’s office has not gotten back with a comment.

OCD Sensitivity Test: Are You OCD?

How OCD are you?

If you find 2 bothersome, then you are 50% OCD. If you think 3 is making you lose your mind, then you are full blown 100% OCD.

OCD has been on the rise in the US since the beginning of the 21st century. Simply put, more people are either being diagnosed with OCD or are finally getting the treatment they need.

But OCD can also afflict people on varying levels. For some people, that can be quantified by the Higgs-Borshinger Test that helps quantify how OCD an individual is.

If you find 2 annoying, but 3 okay, then you should be on the lookout for overextending your OCD ways.

If 3 drives you nuts then you may want to go see a professional to give you help. The bigger the difference between circles the more a person is annoying equals more OCD.

Toddler Laughs As Firefighters Try To Rescue Him, Then DIES

It was an average Saturday morning for the Todd family. That is, it was, until the unthinkable happened.

Michelle and Ted Todd–happily married since 1994–were on their usual grocery run. Brussels sprouts, steaks and cole slaw ingredients for the big game on Sunday, and of course some brisket and Idaho Yukon Gold potatoes. And who could forget Drumsticks ice cream cones for Dylan. All in a Saturday’s work.

But who is Dylan, you ask? Dylan “Chester” Todd was Michelle and Ted’s only child. Their pride and joy. At just fourteen months old, he was already wowing adults with his high IQ scores and the ability to read at a graduate school level. As with most toddlers, what Dylan lacked was common sense.

Dylan “Chester” Todd in what experts believe to be his last photo. Seen here on perhaps his favorite toy, the Hasbro Ride-O-Matic, Dylan was known for his unbridled-yet-shrewd sense of creativity and imagination.

After Michelle and Ted had gently loaded Dylan, along with the keys, into their car, they resumed packing up the groceries as usual into their 2006 Toyota Corolla. The couple were all smiles, as they had finally seemed to get a failing marriage back on track that morning–thanks in no small part to Dylan.

But then their doors wouldn’t open. The couple repeatedly pulled on the handles, but to no avail. Scanning the entire interior of the sedan, they quickly spotted the culprit. Dylan, always known to engage in practical jokes and gags (and earning the title of “class clown”), had locked the doors. The little jokester had the spirit alive in him as he laughed, his pure joy and happiness easing the concerns of his parents.

By the time the Hillsboro County Fire Department showed up, Dylan was still alive and well. However, they soon found out that they couldn’t manage to get the doors unlocked.

Ted Todd, always tinkering with his possessions and never quite satisfied, had installed a military-grade window system of his own invention on the Corolla. “I guess I might have went a little overboard,” Ted said, sneaking in a wholesome grin. “They should make me a Lieutenant!”

As a result, the firefighters weren’t able to unlock the car doors. To make matters worse, Dylan simply couldn’t stop laughing hysterically the entire time, stressing out the firefighters and serving as a solemn reminder to Ted and Michelle that perhaps this would be the last time they ever hear their darling boy’s signature laugh.

As the firefighters fought and fought, they ultimately resorted to attempting to smash the car windows in. As one might guess, Ted had bullet-proofed those as well.

With the interior being fully airtight and no new oxygen flow for over ten hours, even the low amounts of oxygen required by the average baby can quickly become exhausted. As such, Dylan Todd sadly passed away at 8:36pm that evening.

A private funeral service for friends, family, and VIPs will be held at St. Matthews Cathedral next Sunday from 10am-11pm. My prayers lie with the family, the brave firefighters, and all others affected.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances and an unreasonably early death, perhaps we can take solace in–and maybe even learn a thing or two from–the fact that Dylan died doing what he’d loved–laughing.

BREAKING: Barron Trump Awarded Chess Grandmaster Title

Everyone knows Barron Trump is the smartest President’s kid ever. Or should we call him First Son?

Either way, Barron has been awarded the prestigious title of Chess Grandmaster this week from the International Board of Chessmasters.

His ELO, a score calculated to determine a chess player’s ability in a match, was the determining factor in lifting Barron to the rank of Chess Grandmaster.

Barron Trump is only 11 years old but he has already attained one of the highest titles in all of sports.

This should be no surprise considering who is father is. Donald Trump is one of the highest ranked and most celebrated American chess players of all time.

In the 1970s and 80s, Donald Trump studied under the tutelage of players like Bobby Fischer. Eventually, he won hundreds of chess tournaments abroad before retiring at the ripe old age of 40.

Donald Trump has been training Barron ever since he was a kid.

And now all of that hard work has paid off.

Rogue Amazon Drone Attempts To Deliver BOMB To White House

Special Delivery: yet another reason not to trust the impending takeover of drones.

As drones have rose to prominence in the past several decades, they have been responsible for killing babies, drug trafficking, and tariff circumvention, to name a few.

But this time, drones–and Amazon–may have gone too far.

At approximately 3:30am on October 25th, 2017, a drone arrived at the White House loading dock bearing what appeared to be gifts. Though the Secret Service had been fast asleep at that point, President Donald J. Trump–known to eschew sleep in order to get more work, deals, and negotiations done with foreign entities.

Trump approached the package skeptically, but tactfully. He had a feeling something was up–and he was right. Once the package was dropped off by the drone, an NFC chip hardwired into the bomb decoupled from the Amazon drone, effectively beginning a countdown of just five minutes. As soon as Trump realized what was in the package, he knew exactly what to do.

Keeping his former military experience and general intelligence in mind, Trump is no stranger to disarming bombs. Sources close to Trump estimate between one and four seconds remaining on the bomb. In the nick of time, Trump was able to save both himself, as well as over two centuries of American history in one fell swoop.

What does this mean for the future of America? Naturally, our skepticism towards drones now has a more established provenance. Perhaps Trump will enact more policies and strip more regulations to ensure that drones have no place in our society, or maybe he’ll even go for Amazon and fine them. After all, if products aren’t made and sold in America, what’s the point?

This story will be updated as it develops.

BREAKING: Dodgers REFUSE TO SING THE ANTHEM AT WORLD SERIES

Today, the first game of the 2017 World Series was underway between the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Astros, a hometown favorite, were primed to defeat the Dodgers early on.

But what happened before the game even started was of bigger note.

The Dodgers sat through the national anthem. Some players even began to kneel.

Joining other PC crusaders across the country, the spineless Los Angeles Dodgers manager refused to dress down his players. He should’ve told them they were wrong to disrespect the flag and our soldiers like that.

This is nothing new. Furthermore, this should be expected. If we ever want to affect serious change in our country and take it back from what it has become: a cesspool of takers and lazy bums, then we need to stop listening and idolizing these fools.

Idolize your pastors. Idolize your parents. Idolize your God. But do NOT idolize athletes, entertainers and the like. There are only here for you on Earth and NOT in heaven.

BREAKING: Maxine Waters Threatens to “Take Trump Out”

Congresswoman Maxine Waters has threatened to attack to Trump and has been quoted as saying she wants to “Take Trump Out. Period.”

Waters has been one of the most outspoken critics of Trump.

Waters has suggested several times in past months that Trump should be impeached, most recently over his argument that NFL players should stop kneeling for the national anthem, a movement started in protest of police mistreatment of African-Americans.

Waters’ most recent comment about Trump, as reported first by The American Mirror, comes just a few months after a gunman opened fire on congressional Republicans as they practiced for a charity baseball game, severely wounding House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La.

Democratic Rep. Al Green, Texas, also threatened to try to impeach Trump.

Earlier this month, he withdrew at the last minute an attempt to force the entire chamber to take a preliminary vote on the issue.

Though the effort would unlikely get a final vote in the GOP-controlled House, any such vote would be politically messy for any member, including Democrats who are trying to develop the message for the 2018 midterms beyond one merely opposing Trump, which has been unsuccessful for them.
